      <description>I think the commonly accepted back-formation from &lt;a href="/words/butler"&gt;butler&lt;/a&gt; is &lt;a href="/words/buttle"&gt;buttle&lt;/a&gt;. For two reasons:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="/words/buttle"&gt;buttle&lt;/a&gt; is listed in several of the dictionaries included at the OneLook site; &lt;a href="/words/butle"&gt;butle&lt;/a&gt; is not listed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By analogy with &lt;a href="/words/suttle"&gt;suttle&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="/words/sutler"&gt;sutler&lt;/a&gt;.</description>
