      <description>I have always regarded this word as a logical companion to &lt;a href="/words/vegetate"&gt;vegetate&lt;/a&gt;. So where slacking around doing nothing on land is vegetating, slacking around frolicking in the pool (or other body of water) would be marinating.</description>
