Well done skip. We have some wonderful grasses in Australia but often no common names as they were already outdone by exotic weeds by the time settlers and nomenclature arrived. Hence we have names for pests like gamba grass and buffel grass, nothing for the natives :-(

John's new image search feature is particularly informative and entertaining for most of the words on this list. See rattlesnake grass, for instance. For an example of a WeirdNET-worthy non sequitur, though, see prairie satin.

I love this list! With your interest in these grasses I assume you have stood upon the tallgrass prairie...it is an unforgettable experience.
