I always liked blubber rand, although it's not technically correct--I guess "bubber rand" would be, but it's not as much fun. Also beat selt.

You're supposed to let me have total control over your list! Why won't you just submit? Oh the audacity!

Oh, got it. Though I'm not convinced those particular examples are true spoonerisms... ;-)

They're spooner quotes - if you go to the word listing for work and lobotomy, you'll get the full experience. Didn't want to list whole sentences...

How about bottle in front of me for frontal lobotomy? Also, see my list,
Prosie: Prinderella and the Cince for more spoonerisms.

Yep! Black socks with sandals, plaid shorts, funny ties--the whole deal. AND a senseless devotion to the useless pastime of one's choice (though at times I suspect that I may have inherited that particular quality).

Oh, and vintage Hawaiian shirts, which have become de rigeur at family gatherings.

I wonder what else is taught in Dad School? There must be a class on embarrasing flair - mustaches, funny hats, shorts & knee socks, etc.

You know, you're right, trivet. I've always suspected that this is the kind of thing dads learn how to do when they go to Dad School.

I think everyone's father has a favorite spoonerism. They're the perfect dad joke...

And thanks for the suggestions - this is still very much a work in progress.

I love this list!
