>who says "booyah"? And if nobody's *supposed* to say it... How come I keep hearing it?
Maybe you're having a Zyban flashback, c_b!
:•)
Ditto. *staring at the screen*
Wow. Somebody actually sat down and made that dictionary. I'm kind of stunned.
For some reason this list reminded me of kreeg-ah, the word Tarzan used for danger. I was going to make a list, but there is a better one here.
Mr. Cooper, apparently. That is, according to Wikipedia. Oh, and Jim Cramer is also partially to blame. It's a corruption of booyeah, which I guess is a corruption of boo! Yeah! Or something.
*WARNING: Etymologies in mirror are most likely more madeupical than they appear*
... then... who says "booyah"? And if nobody's *supposed* to say it... How come I keep hearing it?
*is creeped out*
Wikipedia has some interestingish articles on the Marines' oorah and the Army's hooah. I don't think the Air Force or Navy have equivalents.
Dang right. I'm rather partial to the Air Force. Actually it might be mostly because I love the words air force when they're put together. Though marine is pretty awesome too.
You're no Marine! ;-)
I thought it was "booyah"...?
A soldier friend of mine would often describe a chaotic situation as being like a mad woman's shit.
Oorah!
