By "permanent," I'm assuming you mean that you never really get rid of it. I guess that's true of all viruses--the symptoms run their course, but you'll always have traces of the virus in your blood. Although I'm not a doctor either and don't even play one on Wordie. :)
All the more reason to search for "human-powered vehicles" instead.

I'm not a doctor, damnit, but isn't HPV (virus, not bicycle) basically permanent? And very common, in fact part of our shared heritage? I think we should celebrate it as something that brings us together, rather than let it drive us apart.

Actually, I found out that particular virus is fairly widespread, and often people exhibit no symptoms. So... I wish you a speedy recovery as well. ;)

If I do a search on HPV it brings up Human Papilloma Virus. I guess that's a strange contraption, but maybe not what you had in mind, bilby...? ;)

If you do a search on HPV you'll find all kinds of quite strange contraptions. A lot of them are so idiosyncratic they go by brand names rather than generic names. Nothing (yet) really beats the bicycle but there's a lot of potential.
