I think the volume increases as you get more frustrated, which often means you start looking properly, rather than wandering around the house aimlessly.
You're right about the volume increasing as you get nearer your quarry, asativum. I think it's like sonar, isn't it?
Plethora, have you noticed that raising the volume makes it more likely the thing shows itself?
Its like the way things always show up in the last place you look. Spooky.
When I'm looking for a physical thing, I tend to wander around saying "whereisit, whereisit, whereisit, WHERE IS IT??"
Yes. Wordie is going to swallow itself. ;-P
I think we just enjoy disappearing into ourselves. :)
I'm betting that Wordie was built over a Hellmouth. It would be just like John to do that.
Every potential Wordie list is an existing Wordie list.
pter, this sentence is being added here right now.
*shakes head in wonderment*
Every potential Wordie list... is an existing Wordie list. It's as if this site creates a hole in the barrier between the real and the imaginary, and the two are intermingling in some metaphysical amalgam...
Either that, or Wordie was built over a Hellmouth. :-)
Oh, that could be another whole list!
What about the sound you make when you're looking for a physical thing?
Aside from the muttered mantra (keys, keys, keys)...
You mean like these, pterodactyl? ;-)
Jibby-jibby is something our secretary says, could be ideolectical. But it's entertaining :-)
Sure. Go right ahead. I really didn't have much in mind at all when I made this list the other morning at two o'clock.
Ooh! Can we put some placeholder names on this list? Or is that not what you had in mind?
