Great, sionnach! I left off uptown, weatherman, and cowbell because they don't seem immediately unmistakable (that is, one could conceive of a different meaning for them). And drumbeat is a great word--I think it sounds like a drumbeat, actually--but that makes it slightly more interesting than the mostly-boring words on the list. Thanks for the suggestions!
