I call it eye gook, but I think my new faves here are duck butter and tear corpses. Incidentally, why is it called duck butter?
"I only ever had two things in my eyes: dust and dreams. Dust I can handle. You cry enough and it works itself to the corners in a sludge. The dreams you can never get out. The more you weep the more they sting and sting again."
Thanks, ineffable!
Eeeww! That's great, ineffable!
hee hee!
I used to say eye gunk, but it's tear corpses from here on out. A term so beautiful it acts as its own genesis.
And by the way, if you *really* want to know what those tear corpses are made of, I can tell you. Unfortunately, I maintain a wealth of pointless eye knowledge (see The Eyes Have It if you must know).
Eeew, chained_bear, have a little decorum, would you? ;-)
Trivet, words cannot express how proud I am to have inspired you. Well, they *can* express, but I've decided against it.
eye gunk mostly. eye stuff if I'm in polite company.
Can I just confess to my fellow Wordies how much I hate being in polite company? You can't swear, you can't have any emotions. Sheesh. EYE GUNK EYE GUNK EYE GUNK. There, now I feel better.
I think from now on, though, I'm going to call them tear corpses. How poetic.
tear corpses?
What do you call the stuff that collects in the corners of the eyes while you're sleeping?
