Ah, the old upstairs vacuum/downstairs vacuum trick. I use that one myself. ;-)
One, a gift from my parents years ago; another inherited with a vacation home. The others gotten at garage sales and swap meets for as little as $5. That way I don't have to make a special trip upstairs (or downstairs) for the vacuum (at either domicile!!) :o)

crumb bum? I love that word and am agitating for its revival.
PS My mother gave me her Electrolux with great pomp and splendor but I eventually threw it out because it was half-broken and I couldn't hack getting it fixed. I know, what sacrilege. Plus it weighed a ton and I was sick of lugging it from place to place.

I take issue with electrolux. I happen to love mine, and I'm in my mid-twenties.
