-paying attention to the small intricacies of usage of synonyms
-having the perfect word for the perfect moment
-to copy edit
-making lists
-organizing things
I often prefer my own pronunciation to the actual one. I subscribe to the Merriam Webster word of the day and get satisfaction out of knowing the word already.
My mother, who has a rather large vocabulary despite not attending college or having an academic-type job, didn't know the meaning of the word "satiated" recently and that disturbed both of us. |
