JerryA: Team-XBMC are working on this, and basic support should hopefully be in the XBMC 9.10 scheduled for October 2008 point release, ...but if you can not wait then you can compile XBMC yourself from the "unified-pvr" SVN branch, more on that in XBMC official forums, just do a search for "unified AND pvr"

How about a "six episode" subscription model based around streaming, or if Comcast combines its cable modem with its pvr and then goes to an a la carte pay per episode fee, but the episodes and movies are dumped directly onto your pvr hard drive ....

DVR seems to have overtaken PVR in popularity. In a Google News search, I found 1,459 items for "pvr" and 3,729 for "dvr." On a straight Google search, I found 9.9 million items for "prv" and 25.1 million for "dvr."
