The term colloquially appended to a golf score on a hole of par or better that was achieved by hitting out of a sandtrap around the green and involving one or zero putts. E.g., a 'sandy birdie'.
"Sandy" always makes me think of John Travolta ("Grease") when he was young and frighteningly scrawny.
