(n): any member of the peoples living in North or South America before the Europeans arrived
(n): a family of South American Indian languages spoken in northeastern South America
(n): any of the languages spoken by Amerindians
(adj): of or relating to the peoples who speak the language of the Arawak
Thanks, I added Arawak. I don't usually put hyphenated words on my lists, so I'll have to wait for panarawakan to appear in print (or pansarawakan!)
There's also Arawak (very common), and I see sporadic instances of pan-Arawak or pan-Arawakan. I must say, panarawakan certainly has a ring to it.
