Not that you actually wanted an answer or anything, but... I don't bake. I hate it. But when I want pancakes, Bisquick makes the best ones. And, since I hardly ever make pancakes, it's good to have it do double duty. Since Bisquick is already in the pantry, when one of my Yorkist kings has a birthday and I need to make a cake, I have something to do it with--the pancake mix. And the recipe's right on the box. :)
If you are going to take the time to bake something essentially from scratch why would you want to start with a product that has hydrogented fat and the ability to sit on your shelf without spoiling? What do you think that does in your arteries?
Birthday parties must be a hoot at your house. :-D
Well, if anyone else bothers to make them birthday cakes for their five-hundred-whatever birthdays, they're welcome to share them with me. :)
One of your Yorkist kings? Mustn't be selfish, c_b. ;->
