I was in a shoe store one night eons ago, and the clerk was talking to a fellow employee in the back room, and called him/her a ferengi. I laughed my ass off. What a fantastic name to call someone--it's the kind of word that feels good to say with spite, even if you're not really mad.
This has gone for 4 posts without a reference to Quark, and I find that unacceptable.

Originally it's a Persian name for white people -- feringhee or farangi. It was used in India as a slur for English people up to a point as well.
