It does sound like a lame brand name. I even checked to be sure. However, it does have the same root as nematode, which is a great word.
I think it sounds like a semi-precious stone. Like tourmaline. Only uglier.

You have to admit it's not a very impressive word. Sounds like a brand name for a drug that cures burping or something equally life-threatening.

Thread-like and all bunched up in the middle of the alphabet. Personally I like words to be a little more adventurous when it comes to consonants.
