A genus of parrots in the family Psittacidae, endemic to the Fiji Islands (although one species, the Red Shining-parrot, has been introduced to Tonga). The three species--the Masked, Red, and Crimson Shining-Parrots, are also sometimes known as musk parrots. Shining-parrots have long tails, a languid, crow-like flight, and very bright plumage.
