I remember talking to yarb a bit about how I never knew sphagnum actually squelched, since I've only ever seen it in stores among supplies for people who enjoy potted plants.
Speaking of which, I need a colourful bit of onomatopoeia for a foot squelching in mud. Squelch is not bad but in the name of mud I am prepared to countenance suggestions.
