Cool! I've never heard it used anywhere else. I suspect ME and AK are in similar situations regarding strange visitors in Winnebagos.
Used in the same sense in Maine, at least as far back as the late eighties, when I was waiting tables and served many a touron. We referred to ourselves as waitrons.
Alaskan vernacular for tourist, since so many of them seem to be from another planet.
