You can't fool me, seanahan. Washington was clearly from Washington. Why else would his parents have named him that?

Many of the founding fathers were Virginians, Jefferson, Madison, Washington, so this could kind of be viewed as
synecdoche.

It isn't just non-Virginians--by which I mean people who do not reside or are not from Virginia--who wouldn't like the definition. I think most Virginians would also think it's wrong.

Wait... is this some misguided attempt at solidarity after the attack on the Pentagon on 9/11? (which was in Virginia and not D.C., though it's often hard to tell since people shorthand it and say D.C., if they even think of anything other than the World Trade Center being attacked that day)... *thinking* Nope. It's just another freaky-wrong WeirdNET definition.

Edit: Curiously, WeirdNET vehemently (as in, three times) maintains that a Yankee is also a native or inhabitant of the United States--which it can be--at the same time it differentiates between southern and northern person. Which makes sense on that page, but I still can't figure out this one.

I'm not a Virginian. Nope. No way. At least my passport says I'm not.

Did I pack the bags myself?
Nooo, it was that Arab guy in the hostel, he was sooo helpful.

Now if they could issue me a passport, I'd be happy to be considered a Virginian.

Well, a resident of Virginia is a native or inhabitant of the United States, right?

For that matter, a native or inhabitant of the United States is a native or inhabitant of a predominantly English-speaking country (for now, anyway). So Bilby, I'd guess that makes you a Virginian too!

This could really solve a lot of problems, you know?

Seems you're all Virginians at heart.

WeirdNET, WTF?! (see definition 2)
