there's also the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, a Philippine guerilla group
I find the currency of the term MILF (in the standard porn-category sense), among other things, tremendously ironic. Isn't the sexual distinction between nubile young 'unmarried girls' and ho-hum mothers something societies make BEFORE they discover feminism?
This is only tangentially related, but we're having an election campaign in Australia at the moment and one of the candidates bears a strong resemblance to a famous MILF. Apparently other people have noticed that as well:
You're both right. If we're going to collapse civilization, then why the hell isn't there such a thing as a DILF? Because it's damn creepy, that's why.
Dredging up memories of past lectures on indexicals in philosophical logic, I think there might be scope for a paper, or even a conference, on what precisely is meant by the I('d) in MILF. For example, 'x said, "y is a MILF"' vs. 'x said that y was a MILF' ('MHLF'?). Let alone the 'MILF of the Week' one. (MOLF?)
By the way, I think this is an exceptionally ugly word for an uncomfortable concept. If there were a single word that epitomized the collapse of a civilization, it would probably be this one.
The last time I was in NC (September) a radio station was running a contest for "milf of the week." I'm not a prude, but I thought this was a bit over the top. I can just image a ten year old hearing that and asking a parent what it meant.
Also--let's say you held the title for a week. How would you tell people about it? It wouldn't make sense to call yourself a "milf" unless you're talking about, umm, self-pleasuring.
I suppose you could call yourself an MYLF, but that kind of sends the wrong message...

No! I haven't. But I'll wait till I'm at home. :)
Err... c_b, you're not going to like this, but have you tried Googling for DILF?
It seems there's a dilf.com...
Edit: oh, and from what little I saw of it before closing the tab I'd better add an NSFW warning.

But it might be better not to think about it.

I hate to be the first one to comment on this word, but... I've been hearing it all *over* the place lately.
